Why spray weeds in paddocks?

Simply because they are pests! If you have weeds in your paddocks, you grazing will be suffering.

The main reason customers spray their paddocks is due to poisonous weeds like Ragwort, or the silent killer, Sycamore Saplings.

But did you know nettles, docks, chickweed, thistles and all broadleaf weeds can be as much of a pest to the soil health. Weeds of any form will suck much needed nutrients from the soil, taking those nutrients away from the grass root, thus making your grass grow slower and less nutritious.

Have you ever seen your lawn in a drought? Grass goes brown but yet the weeds still grow and are a deep green? Weeds roots grow deeper than grass roots and will always out compete the grass sucking those nutrients away.

Now spraying doesn't have to be carried out every year unless you have a bad infestation which will require a few years spraying to get it to a manageable level.
