With overgrazed fields being common, it gives the ragwort and other weeds the opportunity to grow. Weeds will steal nutrients from the grass and will always out compete the grass. Sycamore saplings have become a real issue in the past few years. With the potential to kill a horse/pony overnight, their toxicity levels are higher than Ragwort.
